Work Plan
Work package (WP) 1 of SPIDVAC will develop innovative vaccines against AHS, PPR and FMD and evaluate their capabilities in vitro. WP2 will demonstrate the safety and efficacy of the candidate vaccines in small animal models, in the target species and under field conditions. WP3 will develop new companion and DIVA tests to reliably differentiate between infected and vaccinated animals and evaluate existing diagnostic tools for their compatibility with the new vaccines. WP4 will increase knowledge on the mechanisms of infection, virulence and protection for AHSV and FMDV. WP5 will study the acceptability of the vaccines for stakeholders in Senegal. WPs 6 and 7 coordinate the project activities and communicate its results to stakeholders and the public. The connections between the WPs are shown below.
